Meekness is not Weakness – a Devotional

The world in which you live teaches you to promote yourself and demand your own rights. I am calling you to live with a meek heart and attitude. Meekness is not weakness, although many misunderstand it to be that. Meekness is living with an understanding of who you are in Me and the power you have in Me. Meekness is living with the strength and power you have received from Me in a controlled manner. When you know who you are and whose you are, you don’t have to promote yourself and demand your rights, because you have Me providing for you and recognizing you for who you are and what you do. I am able to see that your rights are taken care of and that you are lifted up in due time. Your role is to walk close beside Me with a meek heart and I will provide for you now and in the life to come.

Enjoy Your Gift! – A Devotional for Today

Today is a new day, a special gift from Me to you. Embrace this day with excitement and anticipation. Yesterday had some struggles for you, but today is a fresh beginning. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not yet here, but today is yours to enjoy. Listen carefully to Me as I speak to you today. I have a special, personal message for you. As you read My Word today, do not do so out of religious habit, rather read My Word from a heart of love that is eager to hear from Me. I will guide you today, follow Me and you will enjoy success. Today will include some surprises for you, but do not worry, I am still on My throne and I am not surprised by what will happen. I love you and am so thankful you have chosen to walk with Me today.

Mourning Brings Peace – A Devotional

Most people live with a desire to always be happy and carefree. There is a time for this, but it can only truly come after there has been a time of mourning. My desire for you is that you will learn to mourn for the sin you have committed. When you have a heart of mourning over your sin, you will experience My comfort and blessings. I am the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. Too many people try to provide their own comfort and compassion rather than relying on Me. The temptation is to deny your sin rather than admit and repent of your sin and when there is no admission and repentance, there is no mourning. Without this important process of mourning, you miss My promise of comfort which includes forgiveness and refreshing. When you come to Me with a heart of mourning, you leave Me with comfort, joy, and peace.

God is Our Provision – A Devotional

Listen carefully. Do you hear the birds singing their songs to Me? I love their beautiful music, don’t you? Those little birds you hear making music each day are part of My creation. I love them and care for them. They do not receive salaries for the work they do. They have no retirement plan or portfolio of their net worth. What they do have however is Me. Because I provide for them, they are absent of worry. My desire is that you will learn to trust Me and stop the worrying that causes so many problems. Those little birds have Me taking care of them, and so do you. When you begin to understand how much I love you and how I do indeed care for you, you will be able to stop worrying and begin living in the assurance of Me and My provision.

I Stand in Awe – A Devotional

As you look around at the vast universe I have made I trust you are inspired and in awe of the amazing displays of beauty. From the gigantic mountains to the vast oceans you can see My creative hand at work. The beauty of the fresh fallen snow is a reminder of My perfection. Every rain drop should remind you of the refreshment My Holy Spirit brings to you. As wonderful as these are, you must understand however, that you are the centerpiece of My creation. I made you in My image. I made you for the purpose of knowing Me and living with Me today and forever. Use My creation to help you focus more on Me and My purpose for you, never allow your love of My creation to replace your love of Me.

The Compelling Majesty of His Power

I read the following devotional, by Oswald Chambers, this morning, and wanted to share it with you.  It is from his book, My Utmost for His Highest.  I hope you will find it as inspiring as I did.
The love of Christ compels us . . . —2 Corinthians 5:14
Paul said that he was overpowered, subdued, and held as in a vise by “the love of Christ.” Very few of us really know what it means to be held in the grip of the love of God. We tend so often to be controlled simply by our own experience. The one thing that gripped and held Paul, to the exclusion of everything else, was the love of God. “The love of Christ compels us . . . .” When you hear that coming from the life of a man or woman it is unmistakable. You will know that the Spirit of God is completely unhindered in that person’s life.
When we are born again by the Spirit of God, our testimony is based solely on what God has done for us, and rightly so. But that will change and be removed forever once you “receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you . . .” (Acts 1:8). Only then will you begin to realize what Jesus meant when He went on to say, “. . . you shall be witnesses to Me . . . .” Not witnesses to what Jesus can do— that is basic and understood— but “witnesses to Me . . . .” We will accept everything that happens as if it were happening to Him, whether we receive praise or blame, persecution or reward. No one is able to take this stand for Jesus Christ who is not totally compelled by the majesty of His power. It is the only thing that matters, and yet it is strange that it’s the last thing we as Christian workers realize. Paul said that he was gripped by the love of God and that is why he acted as he did. People could perceive him as mad or sane-he did not care. There was only one thing he lived for— to persuade people of the coming judgment of God and to tell them of “the love of Christ.” This total surrender to “the love of Christ” is the only thing that will bear fruit in your life. And it will always leave the mark of God’s holiness and His power, never drawing attention to your personal holiness.

What is Distracting You?

As with other devotionals I have posted, this is from the perspective of God the Father speaking to His child.  Meditate on both this devotional as well as the scripture passage today.
Whatever is distracting you from Me needs to be removed. It may be your television, radio, I-pod, computer, or it may even be a person; but if something or someone is keeping you from concentrating on Me as you should, you must avoid that distraction. In some cases you need to temporarily remove it, and in other cases you need to permanently remove it from your life. Some of the things that take your attention away from Me are not bad things—some of them may actually be good. The problem is they are not the best. Good things can be some of the most dangerous things in your life because you are tempted to settle for good and never know the best. So turn off whatever you need to turn off and spend time with Me. Let’s go on a walk together. Sing to Me. Listen to Me. Share your heart with Me. Simply be with Me. Psalm 88:13 But I cry to you for help, O Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before you. Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray continually. Dear God, Please forgive me for allowing distractions to keep me from You. Help me to see the distractions I have the power to remove and help me remove them so I can be closer to You. Help me and all of Grace be focused on You and remain focused on You so we can experience the revival and awakening we need. In Jesus’ name,
