ZGuide to the Movies: Les Miserables

Using movies as literature?  What a "novel" idea!  Zeezok Publishing has taken this novel idea and created a first class product both you and your family will love.  Zeezok not only provided the TOS crew the opportunity to review their movie guides, they generously allowed us to have our choice out of all of the Zguides they produce.  I chose "Les Miserables."  This classic film is available for purchase on DVD through Zeezok to even make the process of using this film study more simple.

Begin a life-long habit of doing random acts of kindness for others. Evaluate your own beliefs with the “Worldview Activity,” probe the director’s mind with “The Filmmaker’s Art” activity, and get the entire family involved with the “For Family Discussion” section at the end of the guide. Choose those activities which best fit your student’s course objectives, areas of interest, or time schedule. One thing I did notice, the answers to the discussion type questions (as with all discussion type questions) are very subjective.  There are factual bits of information that need to be included in the answers, but the interpretation of those facts can, to a degree, be open for a lot of discussion.  Zeezok currently has the Zguide studies available for more than twenty movies.  Each movie guide retails for $12.99 and is well worth the price.  These are very thorough unit studies.  There are titles available that would be enjoyable for younger children, middle school children, and high school children.  Descriptions of the movies are also given on the website to aid parents in determining the appropriateness of a particular movie for their family.  To see all of the products in the Zguide line, go to:
